Spring Break is coming! For me, I don’t want to go somewhere tons of other students go. I like doing the low key relaxation version of Spring Break. Whatever your preference, you’re free to spend it however you like. If you are introverted like me, here are some ideas to keep yourself entertained, but out of the crazy crowds.
Rediscover your hometown.
Going home for Spring break? You might be so used to your hometown that you may be missing something you haven’t seen before. Take this time to rediscover what you could have been missing. When I lived near the Historic Triangle in Virginia, we went to Colonial Williamsburg and saw it from a different angle than from when I would go on school trips. Take time to go to little antique shops or local muesuems that teach you about what it was like there in the past.
Avoid the beaches and hit a trail.
Beaches will be crazy during this time of year, so get some peace and quiet with the ones you are closest to. My husband and I love to hike, and have seen some amazing sights while hitting the trails. This is perfect if you want to stay away from the crowds.
Pick-up a new hobby.
A week off is the perfect amount of time to pick up something new. Whether you choose to learn to paint, basics of playing the guitar, or whatever it may be, it would be a perfect time to take it up. Maybe even start learning a new language!
You know that book you have been wanting to read since the beginning of the semester, but you kust never had the time? This is the perfect time to pick it up. It’ll make for a super relaxing week that will leave you re-energized for finishing up the semester.
The most important thing to do is make sure you are doing what you enjoy. You want this break to be relaxing and stress free, so make sure you do something that you will enjoy and will be proud of. It is completely fine if you don’t want to go to Miami, as long as you do something that you find fun. Have a great Spring Break!
