Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a great time ringing in the new year last night. As I write this, it’s still 2018. However, when this is published it will be the first day of 2019. A clean slate, and the first page of a new chapter. I already know this year is going to be great. I am graduating college, my husband and I are starting some new adventures including lots of travel, and I am so excited to tell you all about it when I can! Just like everyone, I have goals for the new year. I always seem to think of a lot of things I want to accomplish every New Year, but this year since I am writing them out and letting people know about them, maybe I will stick to them!
Cut out the negativity.
A huge part of my day to day anxiety comes from people who like making trouble. People who like the drama, or are constantly negative. I found myself being super negative towards everything last year, I found that I am much happier when I’m not around that. Whenever I am around negative people, I find myself being the same way which isn’t good. Bye-Bye Negativity, Hello 2019!
Focus on finishing school.
I only have one semester left, and have no time for foolishness! HAHA. In all seriousness, this is my last semester and I am excited to finish it strong! On top of academics, my friends and I are on the board for a club called Fashion Society, so another goal is to plan a lot of great things for the upcoming year. Final Semester, here I come!
While also focusing on mental health.
Last year, I pushed myself A LOT. I have a hard time saying no to activities, so I end up putting my mental health on the back burner. This year, its staying at the top of my list. If I need a day, I will take it. If I don’t want to go somewhere, saying no is okay. When I take care of myself, I accomplish more.
Write.
I love writing. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have a blog! I want to write more and be more consitent with my blog schedule. I would love to get to the point where I can post twice a week, but we will see how this semester goes. My mom and I are even working on a book about my testimony, click here to read the prologue. You can also read the first chapter which will be linked right here. I know I can make a diference with my writing, I just have to keep going!
Read my bible more.
I really need to do this. I am going to try and start my day with this every morning before class, because the day always gets hectic and I can easily forget.
Read more in general.
I LOVE to read. Nothing beats curling up with a good book, and there are so many I want to read in 2019. My favorite place to go for books? Goodwill! They always have the BEST books for a dollar or two.
Workout more.
This is your stereotypical New Years Resolution, but I really need to live a healthier life style. I really want to do a lot of weight training and get stronger so I think I am going to focus on that. I also want to utilize more gym classes my university offers this semester.
Travel more.
Like I said, there is some exciting things happening this year that I cannot wait to share! But I have to wait 😦
Learn Spanish.
I NEED TO LEARN!
Learn some Korean.
I need to understand the lyrics to the music I listen to….. and I plan on going in a few years, so might as well start now!
