An Open Letter To My Mom on Mother’s Day

Dear Mom,

Where do I even begin? You are such an inspiration to me. You have been so strong through everything we have been through, and I seriously do not know how you do it. I can only hope that when it is my turn to become a mommy, I am become half the mom you are.

Thank you for listening to me when I felt  like no one would. For dropping everything for an impromptu girl day to Starbucks when I have had a bad day. For listening to all the drama I always end up being in the middle of (I have no idea how still).

Thank you for being one of my best friends. I could go to you for  anything and there is never any judgement, at least that is shown, and you always love me no matter what the problem.

Thank you for all you have sacrificed for Denver and I. You deserve the world and I wish I had the means to give it to you.

Thank you for showing me what it is to be an amazing mom. I have learned so much that I will be able to bring to my kids in the future.

Thank you for helping me get through my darkest times. For you and Dad taking me up and down the east coast for medical care that we could not get here. I know it was so stressful for you guys, and I wish I could take it all away. I wish there was some way I could repay you for all the heartache and worry caused by those eight years.

Thank you for your support through school. You have helped me push through when I wanted to drop out. You helped me see that the stress is only temporary.

Thank you for being supportive when it came to the wedding. I seriously don’t know how you pulled together such an amazing wedding in that short of time. Everything was beautiful and you put so much thought into it. The only explanation is that you are Wonder Woman and you have been hiding it this whole time. hmmmmmmm. Suspicious……

Thank you for answering all of my calls and for listening to me ramble about all my woes. You will never know how much it means to me that you are always there and willing to listen.

I am so sorry for anything I have ever said that could have caused you pain. I wish I could take it all back because none of it was true.

Most importantly, thank you for being my mom. God truly blessed me when he decided to give me to you. I do not know what in the world I would do without you, so for that I am truly grateful.

I love you!
