Sick, Tired, and Fabulous!

It’s that time of year again! The time of year where the sniffles and coughs get the best of us. I have been sick for the last week, and I have had enough! When your in college, the workplace, or anywhere for that matter, germs spread fast during the winter. However, your style doesn’t have to suffer. With these tips, you can look good while feeling bad.

Say buh-bye to under-eye bags and puffiness!

You know when you’re sick and your under-eye bags actually have their own bags? Or you can actually feel the bags under your eyes? Yup, thats me. First, you need to take care of the puffiness. Take two tea bags and run them under cold water. Then lay down and place them on your closed eyes for 15 minutes, and watch the puffiness disappear (trust me it works! I just did it!) Next, use a under-eye concealer and highlighter to brighten your eyes. No more dark circles! (I use E.L.F.’s Under Eye Concealer and Highlighter duo, $3 at Walmart)

Stay hydrated!

Did you know that when your skin is dehydrated it produces more oil to make up for the lack of water? This causes breakouts and dry patches, making your skin look bleh. One of the most important things to do is stay hydrated. Not only will it help your body fight off infection, but your skin will also be thanking you.

Hide that red nose of yours!

There will be no reindeer games for you today. Conceal that red nose of yours by using a concealer that is just a shade lighter than your normal concealer. This will even out the redness of your nose, and no one would even be able to tell you are sick!

Waterproof your look!

Sneezing, coughing, and just being sick in general will make your eyes water. When I am sick, the only eye makeup (other than concealer) I wear is waterproof mascara. This will ensure you won’t look like you are channeling your pre- I Write Sins (Panic! At the Disco) days (trust me…. we have all been there).

Just because you’re suffering doesn’t mean your style has to!

I know, getting dressed when you are sick is probably the least of your worries. To be honest, I showed up to class in what I wore to bed the night before this week, but it doesn’t have to be like this! Stick with leggings and a baggy sweater if you want to be cute and comfortable. Luckily, looking casual is a huge trend lately (just look at how cute Kylie Jenner looks in her baggy t-shirts and sweatpants…. pre-Stormi days).

Keep your nails painted!

Even when you feel like death, painting your nails is a simple trick to make you feel like you look good. Whenever my nails look perfect, I feel more confident and all around better. Stick with a lighter color to make your mood brighter!

Keep a pack of tissues with you!

Not only will they come in handy when you have to sneeze, they will also help you if you have a makeup malfunction. Tissues are one of those things I try to keep in my bag even when I don’t have a cold.

Always remember things will get better!

Even when you feel like your cold is about to kill you, remember that you will be feeling better soon! I wish you all luck on staying healthy this cold and flu season, but if your luck runs out, at least you will look good doing it!
